Error Export Grid to Excel in Project Center

In Project Center when I click on 'Export grid to excel' I receive the
following message:

The ActiveX control on which this feature depends could not be created.
Because of this error, you can only copy the XML data to the clipboard. Do
you want to continue?

Does it matter that I am using Office 2007 Suite with the new file
extensions or should PWA2007 be compatible?

Hi Trisha,

You will get this error when the appropriate MS Office components
(Components to work with SharePoint) are not installed with the MS Office
applicaitons.

Hi Trisha,

Though you get this message, you can proceed with saying YES to this
dialog and get the contents copied to clipboard and later to a notepad
file which gets saved as an XML file. Open the file with Excel and you
get how you are expecting. This happens on 2003 too. You can try
reinstalling the active x components.

Do you know which components they are?

I have the SharePoint modules installed and they are working.

As Ravi posted, I can save this to XML and then open the XML file but for
the average user that can some times be too much for them. Some times it is
easier to just have the feature working as it is suppose to.

Hi Trisha,

I am not sure if you are using IE7 but if you look in the Tools-->Manage add
ons-->Enable or disable addons and look to see if any of your active x
controls have been disabled.
