Error importing table

I am trying to import a table from one Access 97 db to another, I have been
doing this successfully for over 6 years.

For some reason, I am now getting the error message below, and the process
is halted half way through.

"The Microsoft Jet database engine stopped the process because you and
another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time.
(Error 3197)"

The 2 databases are on a small network in our office and all instances of
both databases are closed on all machines before I start the import.

I've tried repairing and compacting to no avail

Can anyone offer a solution.

Many Thanks.

One of the causes of Error 3197 is where you have changed the value in one
or more fields on a form and that record is waiting to be saved. Meanwhile
you open another form to the same record, make another change to the record
and then either move to another record in that form, execute code to try and
save that record or try to close that form. Check to see if you are
encountering that scenario.
