Error in calling a report

I have a problem that I am not able to figure out. I have a form open
and want to call a report for the record that is currently viewed on
the form. I use the wherecondition:= with a filter string to select
the record , which I have done before, but prior to opening the report
Access asked me to enter the paramater value. Why does it do that??
