Error in MS Word 2000

I am helping someone with a problem they are having with
Word 2000. When you open up Word and click on Tools, you
will get an error that says Microsoft Word has generated
an error and will shutdown. You click on "Don't Send"
and it shuts Word down. I have uninstalled and
reinstalled Word and it still happens. I have ran all of
the Office updates and it still happens.

How can I fix this?

I'm betting it's a corrupt Word data key in the registry (item 2b in
the article), but work through the steps in the order given in the article.

suggest that you send the error report? This provides MS with information
that helps them troubleshoot these issues. Moreover, if the issue is a known
one with a known solution, you will get a response from MS.
