error in opening pages

Pam

All of the sudden, after working on a site in fp2003 for a while, I am now
getting these error messages:

"couldn't open file "C:\documentsdadadadf - temporary
internetfiles\frontpagetempdirectory\dt1klds.htm

it seems to be associated with sites that have included pages - if I close
out fp and then reopen, the pages open ok... is this a case of low memory or
resources or something? should be - I have 128 meg of ram and over 40gig
left on my hard drive...

can anyone help before this becomes a bigger problem?

thanks!

I'll check out the link - I'm running Windows XP Pro and am not quite sure
about the local server thing - I open them from http://localhost - isn't
that considered a local server?

fpse - how do I figure that out?

Well, I did look at that page - am already closing the site and reopening -
so I know that works, will try the going from edit to code view - it just
started happening though so was wondering if it will progress to melt down
.... I did notice that its when I have a lot of pages already opened ... so
maybe its a memory thing and I need to only have a few pages open and
working on them

thanks though

If you open the site via http, then you are working with a server-based web.

It is both memory and temp file space related
128 MB is marginally low just for Win XP Pro
- consider adding some memory
Also w/ that low memory always clean out your temp files
Have you tried the usual repairs in the sequence below:
1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
Usually in C:\WINDOWS\Temp and %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp
- in FP 2003 you need to look in the super hidden folder
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\FrontPageTempDir
2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files
Usually in %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Web Server Extensions\Cache
3) In Windows Explorer clean out your TEMP files - Usually in %TEMP% and in IE clean out your IE Temp Files
