Error in Outlook 2000

I keep getting an intermittent error in Outlook 2000 when I use Word as my e-mail editor. The error says " The Message Interface has returned an unknown error". How do I stop this from happening. Our IT department has not been able to help.

If you close Outlook and delete the frmcache.dat file,
does this resolve the problem? Also, since you are using
Word as the editor, I presume that the version is the same
as Outlook 2000?
