Error in PTXT9.DLL Continued

I am using Windows ME, Publisher 2000. When I open a new

file in Publisher and start typing, I get the error
message "mspub has caused an error in PTXT9.DLL Mspub
will now close." Publisher closes, but the error box will
not close after clicking OK. To get rid of the box I
have to manually shut down my computer. I cannot seem to
remedy either the error or the problem of shutting down
my computer. Any help would be appreciated.

I tried this resolution. I deleted the Ptxt9.dll file and went to Add/Remove
Programs. However, when I clicked on Repair Office, I received a Windows
Installer message as follows "this patch package could not be opened. Verify
that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the
application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch
package." Could someone please explain what this means? I have used "Repair
Office" before and not had any problem. Because I could not complete the
repair, I restored the Ptxt9.dll file.
