I purchased a new PC that had an OEM version of Office XP
for Small Business already installed. Since I already own
Office XP Professional Special Edition (and it contains
Access and FrontPage) I uninstalled Office XP for Small
Business and installed XP Professional. Everything is cool
EXCEPT the flash screen when Word, Excel and the other
programs load, they have the OEM Product ID instead of my
correct registration ID. MS says that I have used up all
my "free" e-mail help and while the applications work OK,
this is just a little annoyance that I'd like to clear up.
Anyone know how? Do I have to edit the registry? If so,
where is the info located that I must edit? I have edited
it before so I can probably do it but it does concern me
that the uninstall did not remove the registry entries.

You could run the Office clean up wizard located on the CD.

Just do a search for it on your CD and you will see the executable, run and
see if it helps.

Otherwise, delete the Office folder in your Program files and install Office
XP Special Editional again. Remember to back up any templates.

GUESS WHAT? After fooling around on Microsoft's website
for a "few" hours I found the answer. It was in the
Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 292583. I tried what it
recommended and, believe it or not, it worked.

Thanks to those that tried to help.
