It now "says" its sending and recieving, but its not!
It also sometimes tries to download maila nd then comes up with the following

"unknown internal error"

Driving me mad! Anybody else had this 1634955892 error message?
Or had entourage just suddenly stop working?

This is not a known Entourage error message.

All Entourage generated errors get a descriptive text as well as the error
number. However, if you get an error number without descriptive text, it's
coming either from a mail server or the Operating System or some other
application not from Entourage. Many of the errors in Entourage are simply
return results from whatever the server passes. Your ISP might be able to
help you with these. If the message simply says An error occurred and gives
a number, this is an Apple operating system message.

What type of account? (POP, IMAP, Exchange)

What OS are you using? What type of machine are you running?

Thanks for answering!

The accounts I'm accessing ( or not ) are just simple pop3 accounts.
I'm using an intel macbook:

Model Name: MacBook
Model Identifier: MacBook1,1
Processor Name: Intel Core Duo
Processor Speed: 1.83 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per processor): 2 MB
Memory: 1 GB
Bus Speed: 667 MHz
Boot ROM Version: MB11.0061.B03
SMC Version: 1.4f12
Serial Number: 4H63211JU9D
Sudden Motion Sensor:
State: Enabled
System Version: Mac OS X 10.4.11 (8S2167)
Kernel Version: Darwin 8.11.1

I have done my own research and the only record of this error message I can find relates to a piece of DVD software/burner, and yes, it does seem to be an OS/X issue...

So is the easy answer upgrade to 10.5?
But I dont belive that I am the first person to get this this error???

again, when I run entourage it logs onto my nail servers and starts downloading the 34 messages in two accounts then get half way through and bring up the following:

An unknown internal program error occured.

Could not retrieve mail.

Hello, I am habing the same error message and I also can not receive email.
the strange thing is that when I try to access it directly with safari my
email server is empty. so I think entourage is retriving my email but it is
not showing up. please if you found a solution let me know.

Please answer the questions I asked below about your setup. There is no way
