error message 550

I am unable to send e-mail through my outlook express 6.
I keep getting the following message.

The message could not be sent because one of the
recipients was rejected by the server.
Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

Any suggestions?

I think 550 means that relaying is prohibited. check your account settings
against those recommended by your ISP.

If you have not any problems prior using Outlook then I
would say it most likely is the Mail Server is down for
maintenance or some other reason.

If this is the first time using it... it could be you have
it set up incorrectly. pop3 or smtp or a typo.

Microsoft Outlook usually needs soandso%domain.com instead
of (e-mail address removed). The percentage % sign in place of @
