error message after holding down the control key for 8 seconds

i had an error message after holding down the control key for 8 seconds. it
said something about smart, cant remember, and i pressed cancel. since then i
cannot select one object with my mouse, or click mid sentence to insert a
word or correct it, when i click a page of text, it selects it all, and my
scroll wheel does not work. Does any one know what i did and how i change it
back?

This is one of the Windows Accessibility Options (sticky keys?) - you can
access the settings from the Windows control panel applet.
