error message: can't open file

Hi, I have a little dilemma - help . Wrote a document
in Publisher 2000 6.0. while in the US and saved it to
view and amend later. I'm now home (South Africa)and have
Publisher 2000 (SR-1)loaded on this computer. *Why* can I
not open the file I've saved? The error message that
appears is "Publisher cannot open files from a different
version". Normal solution would be to amend the file on
the original computer but short of flying 11000
kilometres that isn't really an option. Any suggestions?
