Error message in FP98

When I load up FP98 the explorer comes up with the files.
When I click on one of the files it comes up with an error
message - FPEXPLOR caused an invalid page default in
module RPCRT4.dll at 0167:7fbd0894. After a little bit of
checking I think the RPCRT4 that I use is version
4.71.2900.

It has only just started occurring after many years of
wonderful service.

Any ideas on how to frctify the problem. I am using
Windows 98SE operating system.

Thanks in anticipation from the land of OZ.

Have you recently upgraded Internet Explorer,
or applied any security updates?
The dll you mention is a remote procedure call dll
used for object linking and embedding. ( OLE )
That said, I would:
Delete History and Temporary Internet files.
Run Scandisk and Defrag.
If that doesn't help, reinstall FP98.

Also, the one in my Win95 FP98 machine is
version 4.71.3328.0
