I am trying to send a message to a group of 165 people. I've sent messages to this group before; this is the first time I've had this problem. When I hit send, I get the error message shown in the Subject line along with the following as an Explanation: Mail could not be sent. Account name: "Personal Account" Error: - 17099. I've checked every single email addy in the list to make sure they're all formatted correctly; they are. I also confirmed that the .mac accounts in the list are valid; they are. I've researched the problem on the 'Net, but I haven't found anything that tells me how to the resolve the problem or even what the problem is. I'd appreciate some help fixing this. Thanks.

I am trying to send a message to a group of 165 people.

Have you verified that your E-mail service provider hasn't imposed a
restriction in the number of addresses you can include in your message?
165 is quite a lot and many providers are limiting the number.

Also, the "missing or malformed" message does still sound like a problem
address. Possibly a space is in the wrong place. Try dividing your
recipient list in half. Send to the first half and then to the second.
If one fails then divide that list in half and continue sending until
you've found the problem.

Hope this helps!

I believe that I have heard of this before. Some internet providers only
allow you to send to so many contacts at a time (groups for an example). I
use Verizon as my internet provider. I believe Verizon only allows you to
send up to 100 contacts before it won¹t allow anymore.

Hope this helps.

Just to close the loop -- I contacted Earthlink Tech Support, which was somewhat helpful. But, bottomline--the problem stemmed from a blank address line at the top of the list. How it got there, I have no idea. But that was the culprit. After deleting it, my email went out without a hitch. Thanks for responding to my call for help.
