error message on send/receive connection to server interrupted

I am using micro soaft office 2007. My outlook email is not working right.
i keep getting a error saying connection to server interrupped. How can I
fix this?

What is the complete error message? Please include any error numbers. Also,
what type of mail account do you have?

Here is the error message I get."
Task 'server.twcny.rr.com - Receiving' reported error (0x8004210A) : 'The
operation timed out waiting for a response from the receiving (POP) server.
If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or
Internet service provider (ISP).'
My account is a pop for receiveing and smpt for sending.

Did this just start happening recently?

Do you have antivirus configured to actively scan incoming and outgoing
email? If so, disable it or stop the service to see if that clears it up. You
may even have to uninstall/reinstall antivirus, omitting the email
integration.

Also, if you're polling for email more frequently than 8 - 10 minutes you
should change it.

Let me know what happens.
