Error Message running "Text Transfer" action in macro

When I run a macro which includes a text transfer action to import a delimited text file to a pre-defined table I get the error message "The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file''. It is already opened exclusively by another user or you need permission to view data. When I transfer the same data from the delimited text file manually using the "get external data" command it works fine. Can anyone throw light on the macro error message please
