Error message: "The Office System Pack cannot be installed.."

Error message: "The Office System Pack cannot be installed on this system
because it requires Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6 or later " occurs when
installing an Access 2002 mde file with access 2002 runtime, using Microsoft
2002 Developer Package Installer into a Windows 7 system.

I fixed this problem for installing into earlier versions of Windows by
correcting references in the Ospfilelist.txt file. My program installs fine
into earlier versions of Windows, but that fix does not work in Windows 7.

So you found http://support.microsoft.com/?id=837150 then?

Ah, I knew I'd seen this one recently.

Remove the AGENTSVR.EXE line.

BTW this is getting quite old and security patches will no longer be
available in a few years. You are aware that A2007 runtime is now
free?

If A2007's UI were not so vastly different, I'd think this valid
advice, but given how different it is, and how many changes you have
to make in order for you app to look and behave the same, I think
it's not unreasonable for the A2002 and A2003 runtimes to be viable
for a long time.

As far as the runtime user goes there isn't a lot of change on the UI.
A few differences but even your A2003 menus look the same, if you
tweak a couple of settings.

As far as changes go to the app I don't recall too many. Of course
there are lots from the developers viewpoint but that's not what the
user sees.
