Error message when closing WORD

On an XP machine, using WORD 2000, I get an error message
when I close. Message says STI PROGRAM DIRECTORY
REGISTRY ENTRY NOT FOUND. What causes this & how to fix
it?

Hello Rita,

You might read the following articles and see if they define your issue a
little better. If not we will need a little more information. Does this
happen every time you close Word? Does this happen in Windows Safe Mode?
Does this happen in Word Safe Mode? You can get to Word Safe Mode by
clicking Start- Run and typing Winword /a and clicking Ok. This starts Word
without loading Add-ins and other Word Startup apps. Here are the links to
