Error message when opening a web page

Andrea

I keep getting an error message when opening (and
sometimes when closing)a web page in FrontPage. The
error states that Microsoft FrontPage has encountered a
problem and needs to close. Can anyone help with this?
Thanks!

I am getting the same thing! I've been using FP2002 for
over a year with no problems. Now, I've had to reinstall
Internet Explorer 6 and Outlook Express 6, and ever since
that, I cannot run Front Page. At one point FP offered to
send the error message to MS. I did it, and it returned a
message suggesting I update my Office products (which are
Office Professional 2000 upgraded to 2002...). I've
completed all the updates MS has available for my system.
And still Front Page will not operate.

So, I am asking for the same help with this. I am on the
support line HOLD as I write this.

Also, to add to my last reply, I've tried the repair
function. I've also removed and reinstalled Front Page.
I am really stuck...

When you uninstalled FrontPage, did you restart the computer before you
performed the reinstall??
There are some registry entries that aren't fully removed during an
uninstall until the machine is restarted.

Steve,

Yes, I did restart. In fact most of my time on this is
spent rebooting (it takes so long each time). Since I
wrote the last message, I've spent over 4 hours with MS
support in India trying to repair this issue to no avail.
They are researching it further and contacting me again
tomorrow. What we tried repeatedly today was, completely
removing FP, including the keys, registers, temp files,
folders, etc. We've even installed it to a new location.

Any thoughts are greeatly welcomed. Donna

Just to reply to your offer of help, yes, I certainly did
the detect and repair, several times. I've also removed
and reinstalled several times. If your interested, check
my other reply please. Thanks for your help. Donna
