Error message when opening Outlook 2003

Good morning/afternoon/evening,

Everytime I am opening my OL2003 I get the "Identity Switch Canceled.
The current identity could not be changed because one of the
applications was unable to switch. Close any open dialog boxes in other
applications before trying again" message. After clicking OK, the app
loads just fine. All the references to this error were pointing to
Outlook Express but nothing was said about OL2003. I am running win2k
sp4. Any clues?Reinstalling didn't work...

Please help... it's not life-threatening but it's surely annoying as
hell ((

Should I copy the contents of the old profile into the new one or
recreste all the settings (import the PST, address boob, everything
else? Please advise... and THANKYOU for your reply!

Milly,

I have created a new account but strangely (or not?) I got the same
error message when logging on. Even more interestingly (which I have
never tried before), when I have tried launching Outlook Express (just
for giggles, without any accounts set up on it - I use Mozilla's
Thunderbird for newsgroups-related issues) it gave me the error message
described in
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;224463. I know
that OEX is the'newsgroups" part of OL2003. That would make a sense why
I am getting the message, but what's the relationship, and how to fix
it... is definitely another question.

Help? Ideas?
