Error message while printing from 2003 inbox regarding HTML messag

when I try to print from my outlook 2003 SP3 student/ teacher edition by
selecting the email and choosing file and print, I get an error message that
says "please open this HTML message to print it". I have sent the same
message to another computer running outlook 2003 SP3 office basic edition
machine and I can print the same message with no problem. I look in the
message properties in both and they say format = HTML. also no problem from a
Outlook 2007 machine.

Am I missing some setting to get it to print correctly without having to
open all the individual emails?

in the about window the version in () for both computers is 11.8217.8221

Diane,

Pardon me for jumping in. On another thread, I reported I had a similar
problem that just started recently and I think I found a possible cause
which I've pasted below. Any thoughts?

thanks,
randy

----------------
I spent most of the day rolling back updates, but I think I found the
culprit: the Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 7 for Windows
XP (KB969897). When this is installed, I can't print HTML from Outlook 2003
or IE 7. When I remove it, I can print but, of course, I don't have the
security protection this update provides.

Note: On another computer that doesn't have Office 2003 installed, this
update (KB969897) is installed, but I can still print webpages. There might
be some part of the update that conflicts with Office--I don't know.

That's good to know. Winupdate will probably try to reinstall it or you
can - I've had good luck after uninstalling an autoupdate, rebooting then
reinstalling. I sometimes think the problem is the multiple installs at once
that causes problems, not the patch itself.

I did as you suggested and re-installed this patch by itself.
Unfortunately, it again kept me from printing either HTML Outlook emails or
web pages. Looks like it might be something with the patch.

thanks,
randy
