OS: Windows XP
Program: Word2000
AMENDED TO SAME POST EARLIER: saw instructions to another
user to try the "winword /a" switch. Tried this--same
error message appears. --Jeff
Every time I open my Microsoft Word 2000 program, after
about 5 seconds I get the following pop-up error message:
"Microsoft Word for Windows has encountered a problem and
needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I
have downloaded all the updates suggested by Microsoft,
and tried reinstalling the entire Office2000 Small
Business, but this has not fixed the problem.
I can actually move the pop-up to the bottom of the
page and do some things on a file, but certain operations
cause the program to freeze, and then I'm forced to exit
Word.
On occasion, I've gotten the identical message when
working in Excel2000 (part of the same Small Business
suite, of course.) Don't know where to go from here.
