Error Messages when submitting questions

M

MWE

I have just started using this apparently new version of the MS Community
Newsgroup. Every time I post a question to the Access newsgroup, I get an
error message indicating that the "system" did not receive me message and I
should try again later. The error message seems to be erroneous as the posts
appear to go through.

I have also noticed that several of the buttons, e.g., Update Profile, have
broken links.

What's up?

The web site you refer to is just one way of accessing (no pun intended) the
newsgroup. Many of us are accessing the newsgroup via newsreader programs,
and know little if anything about the web site, and certainly have no
control over it. I took a look at the site, to see if there was a feedback
link I could refer you to. I found a 'getting started' article which advised
that, to send feedback to Microsoft, you should click the 'Contact Us' link
'at the bottom of the page'. Unfortunately, I have yet to find a single page
at the 'communities' site that actually has a 'Contact Us' link at the
bottom of the page.

Sorry, but I'm afraid there's not much more I can tell you except that, in
my experience, web-based interfaces to newsgroups have always been a poor
substitute for newsreader programs, and that situation does not appear to
have changed.

The spammers and script-kiddies have succeeded in making it impossible for
me to use a real e-mail address in public newsgroups. E-mail replies to
this post will be deleted without being read. Any e-mail claiming to be
from brenreyn at indigo dot ie that is not digitally signed by me with a
GlobalSign digital certificate is a forgery and should be deleted without
being read. Follow-up questions should in general be posted to the
newsgroup, but if you have a good reason to send me e-mail, you'll find
a useable e-mail address at the URL above.
