error messages

I have a user who has personal folders and recently
started getting the following message.

The data file 'file name' was not closed properly.

This file is being checked for problems.

I have archived some of his email to control the .pst file
size.

I have also run scanpst and a defrag in Outlook.

The error message still comes up occasionally.

He is running all the latest patches and updates to XP and
Office...

I am currently working on the same issue for customer. Have you tried to detect and repair on Outlook or reinstalling it. The profile could be corrupted as well.
