Error [microsoft][odbc sql server driver]communication link failur

I started getting this message this morning when processing PWA resource time
updates this morning for a specific project. this is an existing project
which has had updates processed in the past successfully. I can not SAVE this
project without getting this error - SAVE does not complete. Any ideas or
suggestions?
I have searched MS sites but can not find any info on this error.
EPS2003 (PWA and Project Professional)

Not sure what happened but looks like I found a work around. I saved the
project as a local copy to my hard drive. Then closed the local copy - did
File Open again from Project Professional using files list on the server. The
original file was no longer checked out. Opened the server project file did
SAVE and now all seems ok.
