If there's nothing in there, I would start deleting preference files in
Home/Library/Preferences/Microsoft, in this approximate order:
VBA Preferences
Carbon Registration Database
Office Registration Cache X
Microsoft Office Settings (10)
Microsoft Excel Settings (10)
Well, I've got the same problems, and it works if I delete the 2nd
and/or the 3rd file you mentionned. Only problem, the file is
automatically created again by Excel, so back to the beginning, i.e.
same error.
I thought about logging as root from the command line, create an empty
with the same name, and make it read-only for everyone, including
root. I thought that should solve the problem. Unfortunately, Excel
managed to changed (!!) the permissions on that file, and overwrite it
with its own version. So back to the beginning.
Any more ideas?
Thanks
