I may have the wrong post.

I just want to know what to do if I want to change my
office assistant and I keep getting the following error
Error 1706. No valid source could be found for product
Microsoft Office 2000 Professional. Windows installer
cannot continue. Windows installer error 1603 fatal error
exist.

How do you fix this?

Try reinstalling Office from your original CD and making sure that the office
assistant is ticked.

If it's already ticked, until it (which should remove the feature) and then
re-install again and tick it.

See if that works.
