Error on opening Word 2000

Now that I've updated Word 2000 to SP-3, I get the
following error message when I open Word 2000:

"Run-time error '5':
Invalid procedure call or argument"

In the title bar of the error dialog box it
says "Microsoft Visual Basic".

I click on end and the message goes away, but it's
annoying.

I tried renaming NORMAL.DOT but this didn't help.

Any ideas how to eliminate this message?
