error on SAVE AS

I'm running Windows XP, and Office XP, whenver I open a
word doc:
1) if it is an already existing one or a bunch of existing
word docs, and I do a SAVE AS on any one of them, then try
to do another SAVE AS on either the same doc or another
one, it hangs on me, no response whatsoever, I have to
kill MS WORD, though I if I just do save it works fine

2) if I open a new WORD document, and try to do a SAVE AS,
it hangs, just like in the previous scenario, only SAVE
works, SAVE AS doesn't

I have the latest updates for both Windows and Office,
and can't seem to be able to figure out what is causing
this, any help will be appreciated, thank you.

Have you checked the file permissions of the document? Also, disable the
Office-Plug-in in the options of your antivirus program. Also check to see
if the file is in use elsewhere.

tried all these options, still no luck...i"m the owner,
disabled antivirus for office, and the file is local on my
hard drive, any other ideas?
