error on uniqueidentifier/int

I get "Column has same conceptual name as column, but has a different data
type." I can resolve this by updating the conceptual name for the column
that is uniqueidentifier.

I just wanted to find out if there's a better way since it seems like using
uniqueidentifiers and linking to them with ints is a fairly standard
practice.

I think the only known way to fix this is to fix up the conceptual names to
be identical. I will look to see if there is a beter way to work around
this problem.
