Error opening document

Hi,

Every time I click on a shortcut link to a Word.doc,
whether on the desktop or from e-mail I get a message that
says "c:\...\[doc name].doc is being used by [name]. Do
you want to make a copy". There is no documents open, why
does this message popup.
It doesn't matter if I creat new shortcut links, the
problem is still there. Any Ideas?

Hi, I got the same problem! Its not the antivirus.
Must be something with user rights in Office 97...
Independetly of which version of Windows

recognize? Are you on a network? What version of Word?
What version of Windows? With so little information, the
only thing I can suggest is to disable the Office Plugin
in Norton/Symantec Antivirus if you are using that brand
of antivirus.
