Error Opening existing project

I hope someone can help me. I took an existing project,
spent 9 hours making changes to it, I saved and closed it
(it only has 500 or so tasks), it is password protected.
After entering the passwords I get the following error

"The operation cannot be completed because the source
file contains invalid project data or the total number of
rows would exceed the limit of 1,048,000 rows in a
project.

Validate the data in the source file, insert fewer rows,
delete some rows or consider dividing your project into
subprojects to provide more space for tasks and resources"

I don't know what I changed but I can't correct anything
because I can't open the file. I tried the backup files
and can't open that either.

Someone please help.

I got the hotfix an ddownloaded it. It did not solve my
problem - even though it sure sounded like it should. Do
you know if this fix is supposed to let me open a file
that has a corupt password because of this problem, or
just prevent the problem from happening in the future?
