Error opening InfoPath 2003 file with Infopath 2007

Im in the Air Force. We have many people coming and going. We currently use
a file created with InfoPath 2003. The file works on a 2003 machine. But
the AF is switching to Office 2007. The same file does not work on a 2007
system. The error I get is:

InfoPath cannot create a new, blank form.
InfoPath cannot open th eform. To fix this problem, contact your system
administrator.

When i go into the error details it says:
Form template: F:\test\Turn-In.xsn
The following form template cannot be opened because the system
administrator has disabled opening form templates from the Internet:
file:///\\(Server Name)\common%20munitiions%20request\Turn-In.xsn
Access is denied.

Just FYI. The file, computer running the file and server the blank form is
trying to be created on are all on a domain. None of the parts of this
puzzle are on the internet.

I believe this is a security policy issue but I dont know what policy to
change. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Bill,
Try opening the form in Design mode first, Right click and select Design
then republish the form, this should help get it up and running with
InfoPath 2007

Hope this helps

Hi Bill

I hope I understand it correct,
Do you get this information when you try open the form and try to fill
in
Or do you get this error when trying to open in Design mode

When it is the first scenaria:
- right-click op de form
- click on Design
- Go to Tool / Form Options
- Select Security a,d Trust
- Select Full Trust

Another thing you can test, does this form in 2003 have Code ? If so:
- right-click op de form
- click on Design
- Go to Tool / Form Options
- Programming
- Check the Form Template Code Language
- Check the Project location for ....

I hope this information brings you closer to your solution

In fact, this part message is quite accurate.

I was running IP07 in a corporate environment. All was fine until we started using the Web Form services.

I then received the message while opening an existing form. The next day, my collegues has the same issue.

After a looooooooooooooooooooooong series of searches, I came to the conclusion that the word Internet in the message was the key. Looking at the site list in the advanced settings of the security part of IE7, I found that the address of the web server was not effectively in.

I added it. It then blasted the problem.

Here is the place to change

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains\YOURCY.COM\YOURSERVER]
"*"=dword:00000001
