Error saving a protected document

K

Kyle

I recently upgraded from Office 2000 to XP.
After protecting a document in word, I receive the
following Visual Basic error when attempting to save the
document:

Run-time error '509':

The ToolsMacro command is not available because the
document is a protected document.

This error only started occuring after I upgraded to
office XP.

Thanks

Are you using an add-in that might've replaced the FileSave command? Getting
the error you're getting suggests that a macro is firing, rather than Word's
built-in FileSave command. If you're not using any add-ins, then I'd suspect
a macro virus... and you're only now seeing it because, bless their sweet
little hearts, protected documents can't run macros. So, unless you have a
Word add-in that's replaced the FileSave command, I'd suggest making sure
your a/v software is up to date, and scanning for viruses.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not using any add-ins and
my a/v is always up to date. So i'll just try installing
Office XP from scratch.
