Error sending e-mail

I can receive but not send e-mails. Getting message:
The message could not be sent because it rejected you as
the sender. Server Response '550 5.0.5 Access denied'.
(Account: 'MDA mail', SMTO
Server: 'smtp.mdainsurance.com', Error Number: 0x800ccc78).

This is happening on more than one e-mail account, and I
suspect something happened to my Outlook.

Sounds like a relaying error. The following article describes the concept
of "relaying", why your ISP is blocking your messages, and what you can do

I had a similar thing happen to me very recently. It turned out my ISP had
done some upgrades. I previously was logging into my mailbox with the smtp
setting "myisp.com", and it needed to be changed to "mail.myisp.com". That
fixed one of the problems.
Another of the problems was solved by deleting the login and password in
the SMTP sending configuration. I don't know if the same thing is happening
to you that happened to me, but it was maddening to find and fix. The
settings I had used for a long time just quit working. I was using a
program other than outlook, but the principles are the same.
