Error sending excel files as attachments

For some reason when I attempt to send an excel document
as an email attachment (using Office 2000)I get a timeout
error from my dial up networking connection. I can
receive excel files and other file types. I can also send
all other office files and standard emails. I am using
Windows XP home edition SP1 with office 2000 SR1 Small
business. Does anybody know of any known cause of this.
The PC is clear of viruses. Many thanks

I can only think of the size of the file, John. Some ISPs limit outgoing
file sizes - Hotmail I think is 1.5MB. Excel files can easily outstrip this.
