ERROR -- URGENT, PLEASE HELP

I am trying to fix a database at work. Upon opening,
users are receiving the following message:

"The Microsoft Jet database engine stopped the process
because you and another user are attempting to change the
same data at the same time."
OK and Help are the options on the Error Message box.

The Database will simply not open, so I have no clue what
to do here.
