error when converting documents with visio drawings to pdf

The problem we are having is that once we try to create a pdf document from
MS Visio 2003 or a MS Publisher document that has Visio drawing embedded in
it, it ends up with the text on the Visio diagram exploding off the screen.

Any ideas?
