Error when opening files "file "name" is not available.

I upgraded to office 2003 and I cannot open any old word
file or new files after I make them and save them. It says
the file is not available. I already installed all of the
updates and it seems to be running ok except for that
problem. How do I fix this " file unavailable" error so
that I can reopen xp and 2003 word files?

This is Norton Anti Virus. If it is standard NAV, then disable the Office
Plug-in Under Options I NAV. If it is Norton CE, then come back for further
instructions.
