error when trying to import MP3 files

Stephen

I'm tyring to import my audio MP3 files to FP. The first
4 were imported successfully (and took 30 min. per file)
but I keep getting this error for the other 6 files when
I try to import them:

Server error: write error on file "(file name).mp3.tmp."

Anyone know what is wrong?

Thanks.

Where are you importing them from??
If from a location on your local machine
to a web on your local machine:
1. and it took 30 minutes per file
2. and now it gives you a write error

I would say:
1. your AV program is scanning the files
as you import them.
2. you are running out of disk space,

Use a FTP application to upload these large files to a subweb.

Thank you for the reply. Where can I find an FTP
application, what is the best to use with FP, and is it
easy to use?

Thanks

I use FTPExplorer. There really is no best FTP application to use with FP.

If your site has the FP extensions, you need to determine if you can create
subwebs under account, as no all host allow subwebs. You can test this by
opening your live site in FP, then creating a folder, then right clicking on
it and select convert to web. Next you have to determine if you can use FTP
with your account, again some host do not allow this when the site has the
FP extensions.

Now once you know that you can create subwebs and use FTP, and you have a
FTP application, you will then upload all your mp3 files to this subweb via
FTP, then in FP you would create a absolute URL to each.
