error when trying to load office

Trying to load office 2000 on a home PC and get the following message
"Incorrect command line parameters. Portions of this software are based in
part on the work of the independent JPEG group" Never seen anything like this
before

And this Off2000 CD is from where. MS or a magazine, etc.
