SAILS

Hi,

I receive the following error when opening a file from the MS Project Server
2003.

"There was an error opening the enterprise resource pool. You may not have
sufficient permission to access the selected resource(s). Would you like to
retry?"

I have so far re-installed MS Project 2003 and service pack 2.

How can I solve this issue? Thanks.

Are you the admin? The error message tells me that your permissions
haven't been configured to allow you to view or view and assign
Enterprise Resources. Can you see the Enterprise Resource in the
Resource Center view in PWA?

Hi SAILS,

It seems to be you are not having permissions to do this action.

Steps:

Log on to PWA as administrator

Click on Admin link from top menu

Click on Groups

Click the group name belongs to you and click on Modify group

Click on "Build Team On Project" permission

Click on Save Changes

Thanks

Hello,

Also check the permission called "See Enterprise Resource Data" when
you modifying the group.

Thanks

Hi,

One of my co-workers is having the problem and she is the administrator for
all the projects.

I've looked this up on google and there was a fix released for this problem.

"Microsoft Office Project 2003 post-Service Pack 1 hotfix package: August
25, 2004"

So I installed the fix and the problem still exists.

Do you know if this is a service pack problem or do I need to manually make
changes in project?

Thank you all for your help so far.

Hi,

Sorry but the SQL administrator in our department is looking into the
problem. If I can find out the solution I will inform you. But please try and
seek advice from someone else to save you time. I'm not sure how long this
will take.

Thanks.

CAUSE:
===================
An Enterprise Resource Duration outline field was being used in this
environment
(EnterpriseDuration1). This field was set to a formula of [WORK]. One of the
resources in this case had an EnterpriseDuration1 value above the acceptable
range
for a duration value.

RESOLUTION:
===================
Note this resolution requires modifications to database and could potentially
damaged data. A more appropiate solution would be removing the resource and
recreating assignment data.

1. Scanned through MSP_RESOURCES and obtained RES_UID for problem resource
2. Scanned through MSP_DURATION_FIELDS for DUR_REF_UID that corresponded to
RES_UID
found in step 1
3. Checked value in MSP_DURATION_FIELDS.DUR_VALUE for row located in step 2
4. Value was significantly larger than other values in table
5. Set MSP_DURATION_FIELDS.DUR_VALUE for row to 0
..............
You can try
