Error while opening tasks

J

Jonez

When trying to open tasks in a users inbox I get the following error message.
"Can't open the item, could not complete the operation. One or more
parameter values are not valid."

I have looked around and found some things having to do with user defined
keywords but I am unclear about what that means.

Some tasks open with out issue but most do not.

Your post makes no sense. You cannot open tasks in a user's in-box. Tasks
live in the Tasks folder, not the in-box.

1. What version of Outlook are you using?
2. Are you using Exchange server?
3. Do you have permissions to this user's tasks folder?
4. What do the tasks that don't open have in common?

I am using Outlook 2000 with an Exchange 2000 server. The particular task
that I tested with lies in the users inbox but I also tested tasks in the
tasks folder with the same result. The user is using outlook locally on her
laptop and I VNC her computer and take control of the machine so everything
that I do in Outlook is done as the user so I am assuming that I have the
correct permissions.

Hope this helps

Does this user have any of the items marked as private?
