error with activate

when i try to activate i get there no internet connection when infact it does
???

The activation servers are down. No idea when they'll be back (I would guess
later today) ... in the meantime, don't shut down and restart Office too much
;-D

Did people get through this issue already? I don't see it spamming the
boards as much.

I suspect they're starting to see the existing threads -- or maybe those
threads are starting to show up in the search results when you search for
Activation.

I don't think it's been fixed yet, though.

I sure wish the error messages were more accurate -- server busy would have
been MUCH better than "unable to find a connection to the Internet."

Anyone have any luck yet today 05-24 with this activation issue? I am
leaving the office applications open and trying to activate about every half
hour. It would be nice to hear some official word from Microsoft about this
calamity.

It doesn't seem to be working yet.

The MVPs are probably about as close to "official" as you're gonna get, and
my official word says MS knows about the problem and they're working to fix
it.
