error with home and student install

I have a Dell notebook running Vista Home Premium. It came with Microsoft
works 8.5, however to open word documents that are on my home PC, I needed to
install MS office and chose Home and Student 2007. When I installed from the
disc, I received this message: "setup cannot find word.en-us\wordLR.cab
Browse to a valid installation source, then click ok.

I thought the source should be on the install CD, and chose to cancel setup.
Any suggestions how to correct this?

thanks so much.

Hi checked out the prior posts, but don't think its the same problem. I never
had MS Office, and am not upgrading Works. I purchased the Home and Student
2007 Office package CD - not an upgrade version. Shouldn't it install as any
other program, regardless of MS Works? Should I uninstall Works?

Sorry, I missread your post, try cleaning temp files, reboot your PC then
install
Ensure the cd is clean
