Error With Objects

Arthur

I have recently installed powerpoint 2002 to create a
presentation for school due in a week. After installing it,
I tried it out, however, with unacceptable probles.
I am unable to right click on any objects but the slide
background itself. Double-clicking doesn't even work, it
just causes an "unexpected" error to occur and close out
the program. The weird thing is - I can add animation to
the slide itself, nothing able to be done with images, text
boxes, or other objects. I cannot even move an object on
the slide without this error occuring.

Please HELP me,
regards,
Arthur Aaberg

I tried all of your suggestions on the page and none made
it work any better. When I tried the updates, none worked,
the latest service pack telling me:
Error 1328. Error applying patch to file
C:\Config.Msi\PT2BB.tmp. It has probably been updated by
other means, and can no longer be modified by this patch.
For mor information contact your patch vendor.
This error seems odd to me, since the patch itself created
that file.
Please HELP me,
Thanks,

Hi Authur,

Try clicking on Help, Detect and Repair. It might help and it won't hurt.

I tried what PPTMagician suggested, but when the system
was trying to complete the operation, the error:
error 1911. Setup cannot register type library for file
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\MSOWCF.DLL.;
came up. I clicked ignore, but then the same error came up
for file C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft
Shared\Web Folders\PKMCORE.DLL; Clicking ignore again,
Error 1919. Error Configuring ODBC data source: MS Access
Data base. ODBC error 6: Component not found in the
registry. Verify that the MS Access Database Exists and
that you can access it.; Since I don't have access
installed on the computer, this error seems strange to me.
I clicked ignore again, but the same error came up for
excel, which I don't have installed eitehr. Then Visual
FoxPro produced the same error - I don't have that either.
Then FoxPro's Tables resulted the same error. Then error
1919. Error configuring ODBC data source: dBASE Files.
ODBC error 6: Component not found in the registry. Verify
that the dBASE Files exist and that you can access it.
After completing the process, I tried powerpoint. I could
right click once but if I tried again the error would
occur. I also still cannot move objects without an error
occuring - even default text boxes.
Please HELP,
Regards,
Arthur A.
