Errors after copying to larger drive

D

DJHanson

I recently upgarded my hard drive and the Maxblast software copied the old
drive to the new larger drive. Now when I start Word (or Excel) I get a
Windows Installer - Preparing to Install box. Followed by Microsoft Office
Word 11.0 - An error occurred and this feature is no longer functioning
properly. Please run Setup and select repair to restore this app.
I put in my Office Pro EE 2003 CD and Explorer opens up. I choose Setup and
after a few actions it says, "This pacth package could not be opened. verify
that the patch package exists and that you can access it..."
Thanks for any help

Office does not like to be copied from one hard drive to another,
because that is one method a software pirate might try in order to
bypass the Office activation process. Download the Windows Installer
Cleanup Utility from http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=290301 and
install it. Use the utility to delete the Windows Installer registry
entry for Office 2003. Reboot. Uninstall Office 2003. Install Office
2003 from the original CD.
