errors in farm backup

I have installed SharePoint Portal 2007 and ProjectServer 2007 in two servers .
front end and backend.
and installed all service packs and cumulative updates till december 2009.

now i try to backup from central admintration . it has completed all except
error in "UserProfile application."
the error is

" 12:32 PM Object UserProfileApplication failed in event OnBackup. For more
information, see the error log located in the backup directory.
ApplicationException: This operation returned because the timeout period
expired. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800705B4) "

Kindly tell me the solution.

Basim:

You're more likely to get a good answer on the SharePoint group. Just don't
mention that you're using Project Server as I don't think this has anything
to do with PS, and the MVPs in the SP group tend to *run* from any posting
that mentions Project Server.
