Errors opening recurrent meetings in Outlook 2003

I am seeing a problem opening recurring meetings in my Outlook 2003
Calendar.When I attempt to open a recurring appointment in my boss's calendar
I get errors: "Can't open this item. The operation failed" .

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
