errors starting word 2000

My Office 2000 aplications including Word started and worked fine in
Microsoft ME
Since loading Windows XP pro all the aplications exept Word load and start
ok Word hangs and shows and " error report to microsoft then closes" I have
downloaded all the updates required and tried fixing the problem using the
help menu but no luck so far can anyone help

This is exactly what's happening to me and I can find no help anywhere. But
it seems that even here there is no help. Where are the microsoft
professionals?
